How to Make Lángos?
- 2 dl milk
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3 dkg of yeast
- 50 dkg flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoon oil
- 2 dl of water
- oil for baking on the tray as needed
- salt, sour cream, cheese, and garlic for the topping as needed
To prepare the Lángos (fried bread):
- Warm the milk on the flame or in the microwave.
- Pour the sugar into a bowl, add the yeast, and pour half of the milk over it.
- Mix well and set aside.
O make the dough, put the flour and salt in a bowl and mix well. Make a hole in the middle, add the oil, the stirred yeast, the rest of the milk and a little lukewarm water. Start mixing, adding the water little by little. When the dough is well-kneaded, cover it with cellophane and set it aside for 1 hour.
Now, brush oil on the tray and tear small mounds of the dough with oily hands, then place the dough on the tray a little further apart. Cover with a kitchen towel and rest it. You can start baking when the dough has risen to a large size (about 30 minutes).
Pour plenty of oil into a pan, heat it well, then place the well-stretched and shaped dough in it with oiled hands. Fry both sides until nicely red in 1 minute. When the bread is ready, place them on a paper towel.
How to Serve Lángos?
Your Lángos is ready! To serve it, sprinkle salt, grated cheese, and garlic on it. Then, pour sour cream onto the Lángos.
