Nan Taftoon ingredients

How to make Taftoon bread
Step One
First, pour the yeast powder with ⅓ cup of lukewarm water and sugar into a suitable bowl and mix well. Then put the lid on the pot, and put it in a warm place for 10 minutes until it reaches the boiling point.
Step Two
Sift the flour, and pour it into a suitable bowl with oil and salt. Add water slowly and mix with a spoon until the yeast comes together.
Note: The amount of water depends on your flour.

Step Three
Some types of flour absorb more water, and some need less water; add water slowly, so the dough is not too watery. After the dough is gathered, it should be a little sticky.
Step Four
When the dough is ready, knead it by hand for 10 minutes. The dough should be slightly sticky at the end of kneading. Now grease a suitable bowl that is twice the size of the dough.

Step Five
Then put it in a bowl, and place a towel on it. Now put the bowl in a warm place for one to one and a half hours to rest.
Step Six
After resting the dough on the work surface, knead it for a few minutes. Now divide the dough into 60-gram wedges; then, cover the wedges with a clean cloth.
Step Seven
Rest them for 10 minutes in this state. Next, put a large non-stick pan on the heat, so it heats up well. Now roll yeast into a round shape with a rolling pin, and make patterns on the dough with your hands. Put it on a hot pan until it bubbles and cooks. You can also sprinkle a small amount of sesame or black seeds on the bread if you want.

How to Serve Nan Taftoon?
